FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
Still have questions? Call or text us anytime — we're happy to help.
- How much does it cost to clear an acre in Texas? +
- Cost depends on vegetation, terrain, and density. Light brush is less; thick cedar or mesquite costs more. Most Hill Country projects run $1,500–$5,000+ per acre. The best way to get accurate pricing is a free on-site estimate.
- Do you charge by the acre or by the day? +
- Pricing depends on vegetation type and thickness, property size, terrain, equipment access, and the type of clearing (mulching vs grubbing vs piling). Every job is different — that's why we offer free estimates.
- Do you remove cedar, mesquite, and other invasive species? +
- Yes — we specialize in invasive species common to the Hill Country: cedar (Ashe juniper), mesquite, huisache, and prickly pear. Removing them improves water availability, restores grass, and makes your land more usable.
- Do you offer grubbing or full tree removal? +
- Yes. In addition to mulching, we use root grapple and shear attachments to uproot cedar and mesquite, remove root systems, and stack trees into piles for burning or cleanup — great if you want the land completely cleared rather than mulched.
- Can you stack brush or create burn piles? +
- Yes — we stack brush, trees, and debris into organized piles for burning or disposal. We also build brush piles for agricultural and wildlife exemption requirements.
- Do you offer land clearing for wildlife exemption or food plots? +
- Yes. We help landowners clear property for wildlife exemptions, food plots, and habitat improvement — preparing land for planting and creating ideal conditions for deer and other native wildlife.
- What is forestry mulching and is it better than bulldozing? +
- Forestry mulching grinds trees and brush into mulch in one pass and leaves it on the ground. It's often preferred because it skips hauling and burning, is faster, helps prevent erosion, and returns nutrients to the soil — one of the most efficient ways to clear land in the Hill Country.
- How long does it take to clear land? +
- Most projects clear 1–3 acres per day depending on vegetation and terrain. Heavy cedar or dense brush takes longer; lighter areas go faster.
- What areas do you serve? +
- We're based in Kerrville and serve all of Kerr County — including Ingram, Hunt, Center Point, and Mountain Home — as well as Comfort, Boerne, Fredericksburg, Harper, Mason, and communities throughout the Texas Hill Country. If you're unsure whether we travel to your area, just call or text and we'll let you know.
- Do you offer free estimates? +
- Yes — free on-site estimates throughout Kerrville and the surrounding Hill Country. We'll walk the property with you, talk through what needs to happen, and give you a straightforward price. No pressure, no obligation.
- How do I know if I need land clearing, forestry mulching, or pasture mowing? +
- It depends on what's growing and what you want the land to do. Pasture mowing handles tall grass, weeds, and light vegetation — it's the right call for open fields that just need to be knocked back. Forestry mulching is better when you have dense brush, cedar, mesquite, or overgrown woodland that needs to be cleared down to ground level. If you're dealing with thick invasives and want usable land back, mulching is usually the most efficient path. Not sure? Describe your property and we'll point you in the right direction.
- Can you clear cedar and mesquite on rocky Hill Country land? +
- Yes — rocky terrain and shallow soil are normal conditions out here, and our equipment is suited for it. We've worked across Kerr County and the Hill Country long enough to know that every property has its own challenges. Steep draws, limestone outcroppings, and tight access don't stop us, though they do affect pricing. An on-site walkthrough gives us the full picture before we quote.
- Is forestry mulching better than hauling brush away? +
- For most Hill Country properties, yes. Forestry mulching grinds trees and brush into mulch in one pass and leaves it on the ground — no hauling, no burning, no separate cleanup. The mulch layer helps hold moisture, slow erosion, and return nutrients to the soil. It's faster and usually more cost-effective than cut-and-haul methods. That said, if you need the land completely bare or you're building, we can also grub and stack for burning.
- Can you help with hunting trails, food plots, or wildlife habitat improvement? +
- Yes. We clear hunting trails, shooting lanes, and access paths through wooded or overgrown areas. We also prepare food plot areas and help improve wildlife habitat by selectively removing invasives while leaving beneficial cover. Whether you're managing a hunting lease or improving your own land for deer, turkey, or other native wildlife, we can put together a clearing plan that fits your goals.
