Utility Line Clearing & Brush Cleanup

Project Overview

The property owner needed a clear route through the Hill Country brush so utility power could be run to a new home on the Kerrville land. We opened that path from the upper flat section down the slope, removing the trees and brush standing in the way of the planned line.

Scope of Work

• Felled and removed hackberry, cedar, and cedar saplings along the planned utility route
• Used saws, a skid steer, and grapple to cut, lift, and clean up material
• Opened access from the flat upper bench down the rocky slope
• Stacked removed trees and brush into two designated piles

Terrain & Site Conditions

Classic Hill Country rock with a flat upper bench that dropped into a slope toward a wet-weather drainage. Recent rainfall had softened the lower ground, leaving the runoff area muddy and slick.

Challenges & Considerations

The lower slope was still holding water from recent rain. The skid steer sank and lost traction in the saturated runoff area while moving material off the rocky grade, so we had to pick our lines and work around the wettest spots without tearing up the slope.

Result

Utility crews now have an open route from the upper section down to the home site. The trees and brush that blocked the path are removed and stacked in two piles, leaving the surrounding ground clean and ready for the next phase of installation.
